NBC Universal Television Distribution (NUTD) is the distribution unit of Universal Television and NBC, both divisions of NBC Universal.
NUTD was formed on May 12, 2004 through the merger of NBC Enterprises (the distribution unit of General Electric's NBC) and Universal Domestic Television (owned by Vivendi Universal). It is the successor to previous distribution companies owned by NBC or by VU and its predecessors.
NUTD holds the TV distribution rights to its own first-run syndicated series, as well as library programming from its predecessor and current sister companies:
- Revue Studios
- Universal Television/Universal Network Television
- MCA Television
- EMKA Ltd. (the copyright holder for most of the pre-1950 Paramount Pictures catalogue, which NBC Universal predecessor MCA acquired in 1957)
- MTE
- Avco Embassy Television/Multimedia Entertainment
- Studios USA Television
- USA Cable Entertainment
- Polygram Television
- Universal Animation Studios (TV rights for feature films and TV series produced by that studio)
- Universal Media Studios
- Universal Cable Productions
- Post-1973 NBC Productions/NBC Studios
- NBC Enterprises
- NBC Universal Television
- Peacock Productions
NUTD is also the distributor for TV series acquired from the following companies and entities:
- Alan Landsburg Productions/Reeves Entertainment Group (US distribution only; international distribution is handled by FremantleMedia)
