Batman: The Animated Series is an animated series based on the popular Batman comics created by Bob Kane. The show was so successful that it spawned several DC Animated shows, such as Batman Beyond, Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited.

After two seasons on Fox, the series moved to Kids WB and was renamed The New Batman Adventures. In 1997, a special long-form episode crossover with Superman: The Animated Series was screened. World's Finest had Batman and Superman forming an uneasy alliance against a team-up of the Joker with Lex Luthor.
